a foundry visit / 鋳物工場を見学

We have visited the Fonderia Artistica Campagner, a metal casting foundry.  A maestro casters demonstrated their process of preparing a mould for the sand casting step by step, then how to pour melted metal into the mould.

鋳物の工場「Fonderia Artistica Campagner」を訪ねました。熟練を積んだマエストロ（鋳物にたずさわって60年以上！）が砂型の作り方を手順どおりに見せてくれ、そこに4人掛かりで溶けた金属が注ぎ込まれます。

とても細かい表面のディテールを丁寧に再現する、、、こんな熟練工の手さばきを見てほれぼれとしつつ、デザインする商品について考え始めています。
